For Rashida, hair isn’t just a career, it’s a passion and a vocation. Rashida helps clients to achieve a fierce style while nurturing healthy, thriving hair. She’s a salon owner, an educator and a highly-sought-after master stylist, making her one of Kansas City’s premier hair care professionals. As a student of biology at Lincoln University, and a third-generation beauty entrepreneur, Rashida has spent 20 years blending experience, professional technique, and her keen knowledge of science to innovatively meet the individual needs of every head of hair.

At Beautiful Hair Parlor, Rashida is intentional about ensuring her clients love and enjoy their crowns and to live as their best selves. The parlor offers a welcoming atmosphere where, in addition to hair care, there’s personal attention given to each client as a min- istry to the whole person. Her hair creations are helping women confidently lead their own businesses and board meetings, preside over courtrooms, run for political office, and traveling the world with impeccably-styled precision cuts and luxurious color. Likewise, just as importantly, she assures stay-at-home moms, college students, retirees and grandmothers—any woman who walks through her Parlor door—leaves looking and feeling phenomenal.

Originally from St. Louis, Rashida received her formal training at Patsy and Rob’s Academy of Beauty (Missouri), the Entourage Institute (Kansas), Vidal Sassoon (Los Angeles) and watching and learning from her mother and grandmother. She opened her first salon in 2000 and has grown personally and professionally beyond what they imagined and she’s proud of that legacy. A recognized hair care professional, Rashida has presented at the National Asso- ciation of Beauty and the Beauty Culturalist League.

Outside of the salon, Rashida is a runner, foodie, cook, prayer warrior, mother of three, and wife to master barber DeJuan Bonds. Rashida and DeJuan are dubbed the “First Couple of Black Hair” in Kansas City. DeJuan’s Purple Label Barbershop and Beautiful Hair Parlor are joint ventures of NaPPs, LLC. Rashida believes her greatest accomplishment is balancing motherhood with her career.
